Learning Institute (LI) Course Proposals

The APHA Learning Institute Courses consist of a limited number of concentrated continuing education (CE) opportunities. These half-day or full day courses differ from the Scientific Sessions in that they afford learners the chance to participate in a more intense and interactive educational experience. All continuing education learning content must be of sound science or professional practice and serve to maintain, develop or increase the knowledge, skills and professional competence of the health professional. Learning content should be evidence-based if available.

2011 Focus:  The Selection Committee is looking for learning opportunities that promote skills enhancement in public health, such as health surveillance, measurement of health status and basic epidemiological concepts. Proposals that focus on strengthening competencies in the following areas are encouraged: Health Disparities; Program Evaluation; Epidemiology; Applying Public Health Competencies to Practice and Health IT.

We encourage you to view the printed copy of the LI Call for Proposal. This will give you a clear understanding of the information required and help you organize your thoughts prior to accessing the online submission site.
